Welcome to Turku 5.8.2023!
The oldest and boldest city of Finland, Turku invites all turfers to join the world's first Turf open event outside Sweden.
When
ABOA Turf Open will be held on Saturday, 5th of August 2023 around our beautiful river Aura and the green surroundings of our city centre. The event time is 12:00 – 14:00 Finnish time.
Classes
The event has only one class – Foot.
How to come to Turku
Turku is very easy to reach.
From Helsinki: By train (destination Kupittaa, Turku) https://www.vr.fi/ or by bus https://www.matkahuolto.fi/
From Sweden & Åland: The Viking Line ferry sails from Stockholm (via Åland) daily to Turku. It is possible to come for the day only, the ferry arrives to Turku in the morning and departs in evening. Our event area is only 2,5 km away from the ferry harbour, it is a nice walk with lots of zones to take on the way. https://www.vikingline.se/
From around the world: From Helsinki Airport it is a 2,5 hour travel by train or by bus to Turku. There are also some flights direct to Turku Airport (TKU).

Awards Ceremony
The Awards Ceremony will be organised after the event at 15:00 at Skärgårdsbaren restaurant. You have time to take part in the ceremony and still leave the same evening (if you wish to leave).
More information about the event, event t-shirts, award ceremony dining, prizes & prices etc will be coming later. In the meantime, book the date in your calendar! See you in Turku!

Event Area
The event area is in the heart of Turku, only 2,5 km away from the ferry harbour, There are a lot of zones in the centre, ones you don't have anywhere else. Or what do you say about a zone that can only be taken from a little ferry that goes across the river, free of charge of course! On the map it is a grey pin called Föri.
